pH and conductivity measurements
Following Alconox® procedures, our reconditioned consumables are tested for detergent residue through pH and conductivity. The reconditioned items are filled with water and vortexed to extract residues from all possible surfaces. The resulting solution is then tested for pH and conductivity, and compared to water collected in a new container.
pH measurement
No significant increase in pH was observed, indicating the absence of alkaline detergent residue. All pH increase observed were smaller than 0.05-pH units, corresponding to the pH meter sensitivity.
Conductivity measurement
No significant changes in conductivity were observed, indicating the absence of dissolved salts and other inorganic chemicals. All conductivity changes observed were smaller than 0.1 uS/cm.
